Finance Department - revised
The Finance Department functions in a service capacity to the Village Board in its administrative operations. Its mission encompasses the following areas:
Financial Management :
To prepare timely and accurate financial information for analysis and decision-making. Services include monthly and annual accounting, payroll, analysis work, coordiantion/development of the annual Budget, preparation of the annual Tax Levy, and monthly Utility Billing for water, sewer, and refuse.
Cash, Investment, and Debt Management :
To develop and maintain investment policies and strategies to maximize the Villages funds while maintaining safety and liquidity, including overseeing debt structure to ensure that reasonable levels are maintained in relation to cash position and fund balances.
Information Technology :
To develop and maintain the Village’s current and emerging technologies. Services include:
- Administration of the Village's wide area network
- Basic hardware and software maintenance for the Village's main systems
- Support and maintenance of the Village's web site including the Customer Service aspect of WEBQ&A
- Development of current and long range planning for the Village's technology
- Preparing adequate disaster recovery plans for the Village's wide area network
