Building Permits
It is your responsibility to contact the Building Department before your begin any work on your yard or home to determine if it is necessary for you to obtain a permit before doing the work. For example, you MUST purchase a building permit before erecting a shed, fence, room addition, interior remodeling, roofing, siding, decks, swimming pools, or any changes to the mechanicals in your home. Keep in mind this is not a complete list.
Building permit application are available at the Village Hall, and permits are processed in the order in which they are received. During the busy season, it could take over a week to process your permit, so advance notification is always appreciated by the Building Department.
