Medical Drop Box


The Shorewood Police Department has an Unused Medication Disposal Program that is designed to significantly reduce the prescription drugs in your home that are no longer needed or are outdated.  We want to give you the opportunity to remove these substances from the home legally and safely and provide a means to dispose of your medications. 

Residents may place unwanted, unneeded, or expired medication in the secured disposal box located inside the front entrance of the Shorewood Police Department located at 903 W. Jefferson Street. 

ACCEPTABLE MEDICATIONS

  • Pills, salves, and liquid medicines in original containers
  • Pills, salves, inhalants, and liquid medicines that are not in original containers must be packaged in non-leaking containers.  Labels are not required. 

UNACCEPTABLE MEDICATIONS

  • Sharp Needles
  • IV bags
  • Thermometers
  • Medications from pharmacies, nursing homes, clinics, doctor’s offices, or any other business that distribute medication
