Safe Exchange Zone
Chief Arnold and the Shorewood Police Department are pleased to announce the designation of the department as a “Safe Exchange Zone.”
The police department recognizes the popularity of internet sales over several platforms. As the popularity of online transactions has grown, so have the opportunities for criminals to take advantage of an unsuspecting victims. With the installation of 24-hour video surveillance, the department can now be utilized by residents as a place not only to conduct internet purchase exchanges but for child custody exchanges as well.
Although the parking lot is under around-the-clock video surveillance, residents are encouraged to utilize the lobby of the police department during usual business hours to conduct these types of matters.
With the addition of these cameras and posted signs, our hope is citizens inside and outside the village will conduct their transactions here in a safer environment.
