The Shorewood Police Department is proud to participate in the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) Mutual Aid Program.  The mutual aid system in Illinois is formed to provide a variety of public safety assistance to member agencies.  Through cooperation, the ILEAS organization trains and equips personnel to respond to pre-planned or spontaneous emergencies and natural disasters that might otherwise be an insurmountable challenge for an individual organization.

Will County Gang Suppression Unit

The Shorewood Police Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Office have a partnership stretching back several decades in which we cooperate on a wide variety of issues.  The Sheriff formed a Gang Suppression Unit in 1995 from deputies and officers from local municipalities to identify, monitor, apprehend gang members and eliminate their criminal activity.  The Shorewood Police Department contributes manpower to this shared endeavor to keep our collective communities safe by pooling manpower, resources, and intelligence.

Citizens with questions about our Will County Gang Suppression Unit program are encouraged to contact Chief of Police Phillip Arnold at (815) 725-1460 or
