Village of Shorewood Snow Reminders
The Shorewood Public Works Department is responsible for providing snow and ice control for approximately 80 miles of roadways. There are 136 cul-de-sacs, 6 Village-owned parking lots, and one community park and ride that are encompassed in the area served.

Clearing Snow

During a snowstorm event, crews are dispatched to begin clearing streets according to the following priorities:

  • First Priority Street Routes - Streets that lead directly onto state and county primary transportation arteries.
  • SeconPriority Street Routes - Streets that lead directly onto first priority street routes and indirectly into primary transportation arteries.
  • Third Priority Street Routes - Streets that include dead-ends, cul-de-sacs, eyebrows, etc.
It can be expected that snow will be plowed into driveways as a normal part of snow removal operations. Attempts will be made to keep excessive amounts from accumulating; however, each driveway will receive a certain amount of snow.

We ask that you do not shovel, plow, or blow snow from your sidewalks into or across Village Streets. Doing so may impede the flow of vehicular traffic. (Ordinance #4-2-6)

Parking Policy
There is no parking on all Village streets when snow accumulates over 2" to allow for plowing. (Ordinance #11-13-11).
